I made good progress up the wall, having already done this part of the climb once. When I reached new territory, I was forced to slow down. I had to scrape every hold with my dagger before I dared use it, in case another hungry slime was lying in wait.
Despite the darkness, light rain and pain from my ribs, I was making good progress and was starting to feel hopeful. At one point, I had to abandon my dagger when a slime stuck to it and I couldn’t find a way to scrape it off. The blob was determined to hold onto the dagger, so in the end I just left it.
If I was right, there was no way the blob could eat the dagger, but if it was happy to spend some time trying while I went past, then that was ok.
I drew another dagger and continued my climb.
